How can I help you?
Whether you have a specific ailment, or just need a bit of maintenance, I can help! I use a combination of Shiatsu and more western approaches to body work to improve all manner of complaints. By working on soft/connective tissue (including fascia), I am able to treat all the problems you would normally associate with therapeutic massage. At the same time, using Shiatsu acupressure techniques, I am able to work on imbalances in your energy - no acupuncture needles required.
This combined approach enables me to give clients the best of both worlds - the Western physical approach of tissue manipulation, and the Traditional Eastern approach of addressing more subtle imbalances within the energy system. This means that instead of creating a dynamic where a client has to receive regular treatments to keep a specific problem at bay, my aim is to affect the causes of the problem, from the root, thereby over a period of treatments, the client becomes less reliant on the treatment itself.
This combined approach also means that the treatments tend to be less painful and are often more relaxing. Often, once a specific issue has been addressed, clients continue to book treatments as a means of relaxation and maintenance. Prevention is always better than cure.
Of course, Shiatsu isn't just good for specific problems. Many people suffer for ailments that cannot be "diagnosed", and this is where a Holistic Therapy such as Shiatsu comes into it's own. Check out the "What is Shiatsu?" page for more information.
